Academic Announcements

We would like to welcome the East-West community and invite parents to attend our Elementary Assemblies in the Hall this Friday, 4 October:

Grades 3 – 5: 9:30 – 10:10 am

Kindergarten to Grade 2: 2:00 – 2:15 pm

Cambridge re-sit examinations will start on Tuesday, 8 October and run until Thursday, 14 November. Students will receive full timetables and letters to be sent home at the brief training on Friday, 4 October.

Athletics and After-School Activities

We are proud to have one of our senior students represent Cambodia in an international 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Bali, Indonesia this past weekend. Congratulations to Hong Phenglong on this prestigious athletic accomplishment.

Another congratulatory announcement is set for our Senior Girls Volleyball team who excelled at representing East-West International School as well as Cambodia in the international AISAA Varsity Volleyball Tournament at KIS International School in Bangkok, Thailand this past weekend. The girls secured their Championship title by winning all of their six matches. We are proud of the team and their coach Ravy Kong – their success is a testament to their dedication and discipline. A huge thank you to their sponsors, Hagar Catering, for pulling through and making this tournament a possibility for our Senior Girls Volleyball team.

Other News

East-West International School is committed to having all teachers are trained in Basic First Aid. We are hosting two courses for staff in October, and there is room for a small number of parents to join the course.

Grade 9 to 12 students interested in the camping trip to BeTreed, Preah Vihear with Toursanak from 10 – 13 October, should return signed slips and fees to Mr. Jeff by Friday, 4 October to secure their spot on the trip.

Grade 12 students will take part in a practice round of Model UN next week Friday, 11 October. Students will be participating in debates during the course of the day in preparation for the annual MUN event at ISPP from 25 – 27 October.

This is the first of five hardcopy newsletters to be sent home with students for the month of October. As a forward thinking, environmentally-friendly school, we aim to consistently communicate with our East-West community by transitioning to a more accessible and sustainable means of communication. Newsletters will be phased out by Wednesday, 30 October with audio (Khmer) and digital (English) versions being made available on the school website, Telegram and ClassDojo from Wednesday, 6 November.
