The International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) provided by the International Curriculum Association (ICA) is a curriculum specifically designed to support and nurture the development of the adolescent brain. Following a centralized theme called ‘big ideas’, students studying the IMYC learn to make connections to themselves, their communities, and the greater world outside of the school. Learning collaboratively and cooperatively is a big part of what we do as a middle school. Through activities specially designed to get students working together and solving problems, our students learn that success can only be achieved when the burden of assignments, projects, and presentations are shared. We believe that students do not necessarily need more information in order to learn; they need more experiences.
