I have a wife and a daughter.

Secondary Social Studies and School Media

Hi, my name is Felix. This is my first year at East-West and I’ll be teaching History and Social sciences. I’m French-American but grew up in Brussels most of my life. I’m somewhat of a “3rd culture kid” who speaks many languages and still doesn’t know where home is.

I just moved here from Hangzhou, China, where I worked for almost 7 years, and taught a variety of subjects to different age groups. I am very happy about my move to Phnom Penh, and I’m very excited to join the East-West team. I have a masters’ degree in education, an MBA, and also a degree in Jazz piano from the Brussel’s Music conservatory. In my free time I play music, learn languages, and travel when possible.

MS/HS Art

Hello, I’m VJ from the Philippines. I’ve been teaching at East-West as an elementary art teacher since 2006 and am currently a full-time secondary school art teacher. I previously worked as a part-time librarian for all the EWIS libraries  (elementary, secondary, and teacher resource) and taught nursery and preschool for a short period before going full time as a middle school and high school art teacher. Presently, I am completing my MA in Transformative Spirituality at the Asian School of Development and Cross-cultural Studies (ASDECS).

Secondary Geography Teacher

Hi, I’m Travis.  Originally from Toronto, Canada, this is the start of my third academic year as the high school geography teacher at EWIS. Prior to moving to Cambodia in March 2020 (great timing), I lived in China teaching in EAL classrooms for the better part of 8 years. I’ve recently completed a PGCE from the University of Warwick, specializing in the secondary phase, and plan to pursue the remaining year towards my full Masters of Professional Education in the near future. I’m a huge advocate for the subject of geography (and social studies in general) as a powerful tool for shaping the learners that will be tasked with solving some of our species’ greatest near-future challenges. Like many teachers at EWIS, my door is always open for a good chat (room S.48).  Welcome to all the new faces, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Biology Teacher

I am Ronnie from Miami, Florida, USA. This is my first year living in Cambodia as well as my first year teaching at East-West. This will be the 6th country that I have lived in. I am very happy to be teaching science and I look forward to working with everyone and meeting the students.

Secondary Science Teacher

I’m a Professional Licensed Teacher and I’ve been practicing my profession for 32 years. I graduated in 1990 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education and my major field of concentration is Biology. I am married to Leonora who is a Secondary School Principal in our country and blessed with one son Stephen who is a graphic artist.

I filed for early retirement in 2018 in the Philippines and decided to move here to Cambodia and taught at New Gateway International School for one and a half years. In August 2019, I was given a great opportunity to teach here at East-West International School where I’m handling science in Middle School and Life Science in High School.

Having a positive attitude is one of the armors that I am wearing everyday as I enter the classroom because this will influence my students to do great things. I am trying my best to become an instrument where my students will truly love what they are doing and learning.
